Chuckie (born June 25, 1978 in Paramaribo ( Suriname ), real name Clyde Sergio Narain ) is a Dutch DJ .
Career
Chuckie was born and raised in Suriname, where he began his musical career at the age of 13. Only later did he come to the Netherlands , where he established himself as a DJ from 2005. That year he had his first big concert in the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam in front of 5500 spectators. He was also able to place several singles in the lower places of the top 40.
The DJ had his international breakthrough in 2008 with the piece Let the Bass Kick . He was able to place himself in the extended UK charts (number 90) and also made him known in the USA . There a bootleg mix was created from his song and I'm in Miami Trick by LMFAO . It was released as an official single at the end of 2009 and hit the top 10 of the UK charts straight away. In 2008 he also played the opening of the Sensation in Amsterdam in front of almost 30,000 visitors, which also made him famous.
In 2010 he founded the music label Dirty Dutch Records , under which he releases his songs.
Chuckie has already received two awards for Best Urban DJ at the MOBO Awards and won the TMF Awards in the Netherlands in 2009 as best DJ. In 2010, the British magazine DJ Magazine voted him 37th among the 100 best DJs in the world. In 2011 he was able to improve by another 5 places.
