Natasha Anne Bedingfield (born November 26, 1981 in Haywards Heath ) is a British singer and songwriter .

Life

Natasha Bedingfield is from Lewisham , London. Her parents immigrated to England from New Zealand . She has three siblings: sister Nikola and brothers Daniel and Joshua. As a teenager she founded the DNA Algorithm group with Daniel and Nikola . She experimented with many different types of music, including R&B and garage rock , and also played at church services. Natasha Bedingfield is a member of Hillsong Church in London, for which she wrote several songs. After graduating from school, she took up a degree in psychology , which she dropped out after two years to concentrate on her career as a singer.

Bedingfield has been married to US filmmaker Matt Robinson since March 21, 2009. She became the mother of a son on New Year's Eve 2017.

Career

In May 2004 Bedingfield's first single was released , which immediately reached number three in the British charts . With the follow- up single These Words she landed at number one in the British singles charts in August 2004 and held this position for two weeks. These Words reached number two in the German single charts for a week.

In 2005, she embodied the daughter of an ambassador as a 3D character in the video game With Love from Moscow .

In collaboration with producers Andy Frampton , Steve Kipner and Mark Stent , the album Unwritten was created , on which the rapper Bizarre from Eminem's band D12 can also be heard. In the first week after its release, the album reached number one on the UK album charts. In the German album charts it reached the top 20.

In May 2007 Bedingfield's second album Natasha Bedingfield was released , or NB for short. The album was able to place in the British top ten. In Germany it only came in at number 80. Even the preliminary single I Wanna Have Your Babies could not repeat the success of Bedingfield's first singles, it could only place in the German single charts in the top 40. In the UK, the single came to number seven. On July 1, 2007 Bedingfield took part in front of 63,000 spectators at the Concert for Diana in honor of the tenth anniversary of the death of Princess Diana at London's Wembley Stadium .

The second single Soulmate , released in August 2007, also reached number seven in the British singles chart. In Germany, the single rose to number twelve, making it Bedingfield's second most successful single in Germany. The single sold over 120,000 times in Germany alone.

In January 2008, Bedingfield's third album Pocketful of Sunshine was released in the USA. At the end of March 2008 her song Love Like This was released in Germany , a duet with the singer Sean Kingston . The single was able to place in the top 40 of the German single charts.

In 2011 Bedingfield recorded the single Jet Lag along with Simple Plan for their fourth studio album.
