Concert for Diana
The Concert for Diana was a concert at the new Wembley Stadium in London , England , United Kingdom , held on July 1, 2007 in honor of the late Diana, Princess of Wales , who would have turned 46 that day.
It was a memorial concert on the 10th anniversary of her death. The musical event was moderated by Diana's sons Prince William and Prince Harry , who were able to win over several of the most famous rock and pop artists of the time for this concert. The concert had an estimated 500 million television viewers in 140 countries. 22,500 tickets, which went on sale in December 2006, sold out within 17 minutes. Around 63,000 people at Wembley Stadium, along with the artists, commemorated Princess Diana, who was killed in a car accident on August 31, 1997. Guests of honor included Princess Beatrice of York , Sarah, Duchess of York , Princess Eugenie of York , members of the Spencer family , Kate Middleton , Chelsy Davy and Kiefer Sutherland . At the end of the performances, a video montage showed recordings from Diana's childhood, which were underlaid with the song These Are the Days of Our Lives by the group Queen .
The concert started at 4:00 p.m. and ended at around 10:15 p.m. local time. There were two brief interruptions.
On November 5, 2007, a DVD box with the complete concert was released.

Television broadcast
The Concert for Diana was broadcast in 140 countries. In the UK , BBC One and BBC Radio 2 broadcast the entire concert. In Germany, RTL II had the broadcasting rights and broadcast the highlights with a time delay from 8:15 p.m. to 0:15 a.m. Central European Summer Time . In the United States , Music: High Definition and VH1 broadcast the entire concert, with NBC showing the highlights in a one-hour special. In Canada, the station CTV showed a two-hour special. VH1 Latin America broadcast in Latin America , the Caribbean and Central America . Electronic Media Network broadcast the concert in Africa and Fox8 in Australia. The Star Group showed the concert in several Asian countries, except in Japan, where WOWOW held the broadcasting rights.
Charity
The artists completely waived their fees. The proceeds went to a number of charitable foundations , including Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund , Centrepoint and Sentebale , a foundation established in April 2006 by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho . It helps vulnerable children and young people in Lesotho - especially those who have been orphaned by AIDS .
Memorial service
On August 31, 2007, the 10th anniversary of Lady Diana's death, a memorial service was held in the Guards Chapel in London. Among the 500 invited guests were Queen Elizabeth II, Diana's ex-husband Prince Charles, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and the singers Elton John and Cliff Richard. 200 million TV viewers followed the event, the emotional climax of which was Prince Harry's speech.
