Cotton grew up in London with her younger brother, Jamie. She began her career at the age of 16 with the UK version of the Disney Club on GMTV , and later hosted Diggit .

On September 27, 2009, Cotton took over the broadcasting slot from Jo Whiley and now has her own radio show from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in which the well-known Live Lounge is broadcast. Since the same year she has had her own show called Fearne and ... , in which she regularly accompanies and gets to know celebrities for several days. The show runs on ITV 2. It can also be seen regularly on ITV 2 in the game show Celebrity Juice .

Cotton married her partner Jesse Wood, the son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood , in July 2014 . The couple are parents of a boy (* 2013) and a girl (* 2015).
