Cotton grew up in London with her younger brother, Jamie. She began her career at the age of 16 with the UK version of the Disney Club on GMTV , and later hosted Diggit .

On September 27, 2009, Cotton took over the broadcasting slot from Jo Whiley and now has her own radio show from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in which the well-known Live Lounge is broadcast. Since the same year she has had her own show called Fearne and ... , in which she regularly accompanies and gets to know celebrities for several days. The show runs on ITV 2. Cotton married her partner Jesse Wood, the son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood , in July 2014 . The couple are parents of a boy (* 2013) and a girl (* 2015).
