Baron Tweedmouth
Baron Tweedmouth , of Edington in the County of Berwick , was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom , named after the village of Tweedmouth on the River Tweed .
Award
The title was created on October 12, 1881 for the businessman and Liberal MP Dudley Marjoribanks . Due to his considerable wealth, he was considered one of the party's financiers. He had already been raised to Baronet , of Guisachan in Beaulieu in the County of Inverness , in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom in 1866 .
Lapse of title
The 3rd Baron died on April 23, 1935 without a son, brother or nephew. His titles therefore expired.
