The production of the music video for Say It Right was directed by British directors Rankin & Chris . This was filmed at various locations in Los Angeles and was shot in late October 2006.

The clip starts with a helicopter landing on the roof of a building in Los Angeles. On this roof, NELLY FURTADO is written in large, white letters on the black floor of the helipad. After the helicopter, a dark gray Eurocopter AS 350 B2 with your name on it, lands, Furtado gets out of it.

The short, black dress was specially designed for her by the Australian designer Alex Perry . During the video, the silhouette of Los Angeles or its black-clad dancers are repeatedly shown in the background. Another feature is the recordings made by producer Timbaland. The video for Say It Right ends with Furtado getting back into the helicopter and it then takes off.

In the US edition of MTV 's Total Request Live , Say It Right was at the top for two weeks, and viewers in Germany also voted the song in second place.
