The Best of Nelly Furtado ( English for The Best of Nelly Furtado ) is a compilation album of the Portuguese - Canadian pop - singer Nelly Furtado . It was released on November 12, 2010 on the Geffen Records label as a standard and deluxe edition.

Most of the songs on the album are previously released singles from the four studio albums Whoa, Nelly! (three songs), Folklore (three songs), Loose (five tracks) and Mi plan (one track). Only the tracks Girlfriend in the City , Night Is Young and Stars are new releases. The duets Fotografía with Juanes and Broken Strings with James Morrison , which previously appeared on their studio albums, are also on the compilation. In addition, a live cover version of the song Crazy by Gnarls Barkley is included on the album.

The deluxe version also includes seven previously published duets with other artists. The super deluxe version also comes with a DVD containing 13 music videos by the singer.

The songs selected for the album were produced by a wide variety of producers. Nelly Furtado herself produced the beats for six songs together with Track & Field. She is also involved in two or four other productions. Timbaland and Danja created four instrumentals together. Two beats each come from Salaam Refi, Rick Nowels and Lester Mendez. In addition, Juanes and Gustavo Santaolalla , David Foster , Tiësto and Kamal Gray from The Roots are represented with one production each.

The standard edition includes three guest appearances by other artists. The rapper and producer Timbaland appears on the song Promiscuous , while the Colombian singer Juanes can be heard on the song Fotografía . The British singer James Morrison is also represented in the duet Broken Strings .

The deluxe version contains seven more duets with international musicians. These are the Canadian singer Michael Bublé ( Quando, Quando, Quando ), again Juanes ( Te Busque ), the Brazilian singer-songwriter Caetano Veloso ( Island of Wonder ), the Indian singer Asha Bhosle ( I'm Like a Bird (Remix) ), the Dutch DJ Tiësto ( Who Wants to Be Alone ), the American rap group The Roots ( Sacrifice ) and the New Zealand singer Keith Urban ( In God's Hands ).
