Rick Nowels is an American music producer and songwriter who has enjoyed international success since the 1980s .

Career

Rick Nowels had his first big success with the song I Can't Wait for Stevie Nicks , which was a top 20 hit in the USA in early 1986. In the fall of 1987 Heaven Is a Place on Earth followed , which he produced for Belinda Carlisle and had also written with Ellen Shipley . The song was a number one hit in the United States, Great Britain and Switzerland, among others. Other hits by Nowels and Shipley for Belinda Carlisle included Circle in the Sand (1988) and Leave a Light on (1989). He also wrote another hit for Stevie Nicks in 1989: Rooms on Fire .

Nowles not only produces American artists, but also European musicians such as Eros Ramazzotti , Aura Dione and Lykke Li .

When it comes to songwriting, Nowels usually works with the interpreters or other songwriters. In the second half of the 1990s he often wrote songs with Billy Steinberg . Together they carried the title song for the album Falling into You by Celine Dion in 1997 and belonged to those who for the album participation with a Grammy Award were honored.

Since 2011 he has been working regularly for and with Lana Del Rey , whose hits Summertime Sadness and Young & Beautiful he counts as one of his ten best compositions.
