I Follow Rivers is a 2011 pop song that Swedish singer Lykke Li wrote with Björn Yttling and Rick Nowels .
Background information
The song was released by Lykke Li on January 21, 2011. After Get Some it is the second of four single releases from their album Wounded Rhymes .
Lykke Li's record company commissioned Belgian musician Stephen Fasano ( The Magician ) to remix the title, which was written in 2010. The dance version known as The Magician Remix became known to a wide audience through the television broadcast of the Champions League final in 2012 in Germany. In June 2012 the single, which contains a radio edit in addition to the Magician remix , entered the German charts and was number 1 for several weeks. At the end of January 2013, the song finally reached number 1 in the Italian single charts for the first time .
Also in 2012, the Belgian band released Trigger Finger a Unplugged - cover version of the song, reaching its largest chart success. This version of the song took first place in both the Dutch and Flemish charts and later also in Austria . In June 2012 this version also entered the German single charts. While the original was at the top, Triggerfinger first climbed to 10th place and in September 2012 to 9th place. In Switzerland, they climbed to 17th place.
