Triggerfinger (Eng. "The finger on the trigger" or simply "index finger") is a Belgian rock band from Antwerp founded in 1998 .

history

Guitarist Ruben Block and drummer Mario Goossens founded Triggerfinger together with bassist Wladimir Geels in 1998 and played in clubs and bars in Antwerp. The founding bassist left soon after and was replaced by Paul Van Bruystegem.

In 2004 the debut album Triggerfinger was released , in 2008 the second album What Grabs Ya? . In the period that followed, Triggerfinger played at Pinkpop , Rock Werchter , Lowlands , Pukkelpop , Haldern Pop and Rheinkultur . In 2010 the third studio album All This Dancin 'Around was released .

In 2012 the band achieved their greatest success in the singles charts with I Follow Rivers . With the Unplugged - cover version of the song by the Swedish musician Lykke Li reached Triggerfinger No. 1 in both the Dutch and the Flemish charts and went into the German single charts in June. While the original was at the top, Triggerfinger first climbed to 10th place and in September, after the original had slipped to second place, to 9th place. In Austria, Triggerfinger reached 1st place .

Also in 2012, Triggerfinger recorded a cover of John Lee Hooker's Mad Man Blues with The BossHoss . This song was released on the album Liberty of Action (Black Edition) by The BossHoss.

In 2014 Triggerfinger released their fourth studio album. It is titled By Absence of the Sun .

Her fifth studio album, Colossus , was released in 2017.
