The Magician (born Stephen Fasano ) is a Belgian House - DJ and music producer .

Career

Fasano gained fame through his participation in the house duo Airplane , with whom he was able to reach the Belgian sales charts, both in Flanders and Wallonia , between 2008 and 2010 with an album and several singles . His first solo single, I Don't Know What to Do (feat. Jeppe), hit the Belgian dance charts. Reputation as a remixer he obtained and DJ in 2012, when he for the song I Follow Rivers by Lykke Li contributed a remix, which significantly contributed to making the song could reach both in Belgium and in other European countries top positions. It was also often used instead of the original title for radio airplay . In Belgium, after another remix for the single was followed by Happiness by Sam Sparro . This song also reached number one in Belgium thanks to its remix . After the song was played by the N-VA party during their victory celebration after the Belgian local elections in 2012, Fasano was critical of the party. He had his first hit as a solo artist in October 2013 when his song When the Night is Over (feat. Newtimers ) reached number 44 on the Walloon singles charts. His next single, Sunlight (feat. Years & Years ), released in July 2014, also reached the top ten in Flanders and the top 30 in Wallonia.

His record label was Parlophone until mid-2014 . In July 2014 he founded his own label Potion , on which all of his releases appear. He regularly publishes mixtapes in the series "Magic Tape" on Soundcloud .
