Sébastien Tellier
Sébastien Tellier (born February 22, 1975 in Le Plessis-Bouchard ) is a French singer and songwriter.
history
His first album, L'incroyable vérité , was released in 2001. Tellier went on tour with Air to promote his album. The song Fantino was used by Sofia Coppola for the soundtrack of Lost in Translation . The next album was Politics in 2005 . Politics' most famous song was La Ritournelle , which featured Nigerian drummer Tony Allen , who later worked with Damon Albarn on The Good, the Bad & the Queen . The album Sessions (2006) was released for the English market under the title Universe, slightly modified. His fourth studio album Sexuality was produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk . The song "L'amour et la violence" was used in 2011 as background music for a Caritas commercial.
Eurovision Song Contest 2008
On March 7, 2008, Bruno Berberes , head of the EBU delegation in France , announced that Tellier would represent France with the song Divine at the 53rd Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), which took place on May 24, 2008 in Belgrade . France took part for the first time with an almost entirely English-language song, which aroused internal criticism. In the final of the ESC, Tellier finally finished 18th in the victory of the Russian Dima Bilan . Tellier said of the song that it was a tribute "to the Beach Boys and the Juicy Fruits" (from the movie The Phantom in Paradise , 1974).
