Guy Mardel
Guy Mardel (born June 30, 1944 in Oran as Mardochée Elkoubi ) is a French singer of Algerian descent.
Mardel spent his first 15 years in Algeria , in 1959 he came to France and worked there as a singer in a jazz band. In 1963 he received a recording contract with the French label disc`AZ and released two singles. He was then selected by the public broadcaster ORTF to represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest in Naples in 1965 . He reached 3rd place with his chanson N'avoue jamais .
He stayed true to music and released singles until the 1980s. He was also active in music production since the 1970s. Mardel lives in Jerusalem today .
