Patrick Fiori (born September 23, 1969 in Marseille ; actually Patrick Jean-François Chouchayan ) is a French songwriter and interpreter who represented France at the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest .

Life

Patrick Fiori is the son of the Armenian Jacques Chouchayan and the Corsican Marie Antoinette Fiori and was born in Marseille in 1969 . He has been married to the composer and model Ariane Quatrefages since 2008 . In 2009 he became the father of a little boy.

Career

Fiori took on his first musical role at the age of twelve in the musical La légende des santonniers . At the age of 16 he recorded his first single, Stéphanie . With the song Mama Corsica he reached fourth place at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 , followed a year later by the first album Puisque c'est l'heure . His breakthrough came in 1997 with the role of "Phoebus" in the musical Notre Dame de Paris . Both the performances and the recordings were a great success in France. The song Belle from this musical was recorded together with Garou and Daniel Lavoie and stayed in the top 10 for a total of 31 weeks, including 18 weeks at the top of the French charts. A contract with Sony followed. In 2000 Fiori finished participating in the musical and devoted himself entirely to his musical career. His studio albums from 2002 and 2005 were particularly successful, among other things, the success was favored by the collaboration with musicians such as Jean-Jacques Goldman and Jacques Venruso . Both albums reached the French top 10 and stayed in the charts for over a year. After more than 11 years, Fiori again reached number one in the French charts - this time it was in the trio too: The song 4 mots sur un piano was composed by Jean-Jacques Goldman and sung by Fiori, Goldman and Christine Ricol. The next album also reached the French Top 10 and achieved gold status: Les choses de la vie pays homage to classics of film music and, in addition to his own compositions and compositions by his wife, contains new recordings from films such as The Godfather ( Parle plus bas by Nino Rota ) or Borsalino ( Liberta by Claude Bolling ). Fiori has been taking part in the annual Les Enfoirés charity event since 1999 and, with the corresponding live recordings, topped the French and Belgian charts nine times and topped the Swiss charts twice. Fiori also wrote for other performers such as Patricia Kaas and Julie Zenatti , Fiori's song Si je m'en sors is Zenatti's first hit. Patrick Fiori also speaks roles in the French versions of the Walt Disney cartoons The Prince of Egypt and Mulan .

In 2010 the new album L'instinct masculin was released, including a duet with Johnny Hallyday . Again, Jean-Jacques Goldman was instrumental. The first single Peut-être que peut-être experienced a significant media campaign.
