Les Enfoirés
As Les Enfoirés , a group of designated Francophone artists who each year since 1985 in changing metropolitan France a charity concert in aid of the organization Les Restos du Cœur give. Occasionally, other public figures join in. Today, with a market share of over 50%, this event is the largest media event in the Francophone world and the largest in Europe.
The sold out concert is currently being performed seven times on six consecutive days in late January to early February. The first concert is considered a dress rehearsal and is offered at reduced admission prices. The television records the last three concerts and broadcasts a cut in mid-March, simultaneously on TF1 and RTL (France) . With a maximum of 14.70 million viewers and an average of 12.72 million viewers, the recording broke its own records in 2013 and became - as in 2012 - the most watched TV show on French television. The resulting from the concert CDs and DVDs can be found regularly for several weeks at No. 1 on the charts in France , Belgium , Quebec and in French-speaking Switzerland .
history
In January 1986, the humorist founded Coluche the organization Les Restos du Cœur ( German Restaurants of the Heart ), the needy supplied with meals and thus the purpose of the German charts is comparable. In order to provide the organization with seed capital, Coluche organized a charity concert, which was televised and for which he was able to attract well-known singers and personalities. Jean-Jacques Goldman composed the title song La Chanson des Restos , which was and is repeatedly interpreted annually by all participants as a finale under the portrait of its founder Coluche on the video wall. The concept of the Les Enfoirés group was based on this. After Coluche died a few months later, his widow Véronique tried in December 1986 to reactivate the concept, which a few years later mutated from a pure television production to a live concert and so grew over the years. Since this change, the concert has been given an annually changing motto. The custom cultivated by Coluche of tackling racism and poverty with wit and humor in his films and stage appearances is still reflected in a section of the concert today.
The annual concert was initially played by five to ten participants, since 1993 by an average of forty; In 2016, a new record was set with 55 participants. The assembled artists and celebrities include comedians, presenters, athletes, actors, but especially chansonniers , including internationally known stars such as Charles Aznavour , Jane Birkin , Carla Bruni , Alain Delon , Catherine Deneuve , Celine Dion , Patricia Kaas , Yannick Noah and Vanessa Paradis .
In 2017 a concert that was also shown on television was performed by children for children based on the same concept under the title "Enfoirés Kids". Almost all of the performers came from the French talent show "The Voice Kids".
etymology
To Les Enfoirés there is no exact German-language equivalent. Even in the French-speaking world, the term only became present with the establishment of the ensemble and its current meaning was coined. Its founder Coluche had used the term several times in his own performances and afterwards addressed the actors in this way during the preparations for the first concert. So after his death it was decided to choose this name. The verb foirer means to screw something up. With foire corresponding diarrhea there is a vulgar component. With Coluche's interpretation, Les Enfoirés would be dubbed a group of assholes who sabotage something through underhanded cohesion, but softened it with a wink.
