Basile Boli (born January 2, 1967 in Abidjan , Ivory Coast ) is a former French football player . In his career, which he began in 1982 with his older brother Roger at AJ Auxerre and ended in 1997 with Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan , he was active in the professional leagues in France, Scotland and Japan. He also played in the national team from 1986 to 1993 . In 1989 he was awarded the Étoile d'Or .
He became famous with the successes of Olympique Marseille : In 1991 and 1992, the club secured the Ligue 1 title, which had been acquired in 1989 and 1990, and in the UEFA Champions League in 1992/93 he won the final against AC Milan (1-0) a header goal.
In 2018 he took part in the ninth season of the French dance show Danse avec les stars .
