The Ligue 1 2003/04 was the 66th season of the highest French football league and at the same time the second season under the name Ligue 1. The season began on August 1, 2003 with the opening game Lille OSC against Olympique Lyon (1-0) and ended on May 23, 2004.

As the climbers arrived FC Toulouse , Le Mans and FC Metz in the Ligue 2 this. Defending champion Olympique Lyon ended the season as champions. Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco qualified for the UEFA Champions League . AJ Auxerre and FC Sochaux as well as LB Chateauroux qualified for the UEFA Cup via the cup. In the following year’s UEFA Intertoto Cup , FC Nantes , OSC Lille and OGC Nice played . EA Guingamp , Le Mans FC and HSC Montpellier had to relegate to Ligue 2 .
