The Stade Municipal du Ray (short: Stade du Ray , official name: Stade Léo Lagrange ) was a football stadium in the north of the French port city of Nice , Region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . The football club OGC Nice played its home games in it until it moved to the Stade de Nice in September 2013. The stadium was demolished in 2017.
The Stade du Ray was owned by the city and was characterized by its location in the middle of the northern city center. The venue was opened in 1927. It was officially named after Léo Lagrange , but over time the name Stade du Ray caught on. It last offered 17,415 places, which was one of the lowest in Ligue 1 . The attendance record, however, was 25,532, established in 1974 in the game OGC Nice against Fenerbahçe Istanbul . During the 1998 World Cup , the German national football team trained at the Stade du Ray.
