Games of the Francophonie

The Francophonie Games ( French Jeux de la Francophonie ) include various art and sports competitions in French-speaking countries that have been held since 1989 .

aims

The statutes of the Games of the Francophonie define their objectives as follows:

  • Making the entirety of the Francophone countries visible and ensuring them all kinds of repercussions,
  • to allow the convergence of countries sharing the use of French ,
  • to make known what is special about Francophone culture, both in its uniformity and in its diversity and to develop cultural and artistic exchange,
  • to contribute to the preparation of the young francophone athletes for the major sporting events of the future,
  • to stimulate the youth and especially the women of the countries that share French by participating in the development of the cultural and sporting activities of these countries and by contributing to international solidarity,
  • to help promote the French language.
