Seeling publishing house

The Seeling Verlag is a publishing house in Frankfurt am Main . The publishing house was founded in 2005. The publishing program initially comprised non-fiction books from the areas of popular culture and rock and pop music and was expanded to include fiction in 2008 . Since then, the focus of the program has developed more and more in the direction of crime / noir novels.

Publications

Non-fiction

With A Fistful of Gitanes , the publisher published the first biography of French pop icon Serge Gainsbourg in Germany. The same goes for Hickory Wind , the biography of country rock legend Gram Parsons .

Novels

The novel next door a girl by Stefan Kiesbye, who has lived in the USA since 1992, stayed on the KrimiWelt best list for four months from January to April. It was described by WDR as a “real discovery” and discussed by the Frankfurter Rundschau as “dense and concise and tough”. The original edition was published in the USA in 2004 under the title Next door lived a girl and was awarded the Low Fidelity Prize.

In 2009, Guido Rohm's debut, the short story volume No Traces, appeared . The German-French writer and translator Georges-Arthur Goldschmidt wrote the foreword to the book.

In 2010 Rohm's novel Blood is a River was published . Derek Nikitas's funeral pyre also appeared , a novel that was nominated for the American Edgar Allan Poe Award for best debut in 2007. The German edition was on the KrimiWelt best list for three months , was KrimiWelt of the month for September at Funkhaus Europa and hit the month of October for the Krimi-Couch .

Authors

The publisher's authors include the award-winning American author Percival Everett , whose novel Erasure was published by Seeling in 2008 under the title Erased . Other authors are Ben Fong-Torres , Guido Rohm , Christopher Dawes and Derek Nikitas .
