France 3 is the second largest public television broadcaster in France and the third largest overall . He belongs to France Télévisions .

The ORTF's third station, La troisième chaîne , started broadcasting on December 31, 1972. With the breakdown of the ORTF at the end of 1974, the station became independent and called itself France Régions 3 (FR3).

France Régions 3 was next to Antenne 2 the second television broadcaster that was involved in the founding of France Télévisions in 1992. Since then, the station has been called France 3 .

Several regional formats with their own regional news are broadcast.

France 3 in Germany

France 3 can be received in border areas via antenna and can be received nationwide via digital cable. The regional program from Paris, Île-de-France and Center-Val de Loire is broadcast via digital cable.
