Category Superiore 2002/03

The Category Superiore 2003/04 (meaning: the highest league ) was the 65th edition of the Albanian football championship and was organized by the national football association Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit .

In contrast to the previous year, the season was reduced to 10 teams. The championship was played in two first and two second round matches. Each team competed four times against every other team. The season started on August 23, 2003 and ended on May 21, 2004.

Season course

Defending champion SK Tirana was on the 9th matchday four points behind Teuta Durrës in fourth place in the table. After that, Mirel Josa's team won six games in a row and after eighteen games had one point ahead of Partizani Tirana .

On matchday 27, the lead was nine points over Dinamo Tirana . This gap lasted until the end of the season. SK Tirana became champions for the 21st time with the best attack and the best defense.

Flamurtari Vlora was seventeen points behind the rescuing bank after 27 games and was knocked down to last place in the table and was the first relegated six games before the end of the season. Besa Kavaja also had to go into the second class.
