The league was increased to ten teams and thus comprised more teams than in previous seasons. The length of the season into December was also greater than it had ever been since the league was founded in 1930 . In the 1936 season there had been no relegation, for the new season 1937 came with the FK Tomori Berat , who had played in the league in 1931 , and Bardhyli Lezha , who completed his first year in the categoria e Parë, two clubs.
It was determined that in 1937, for the first time since 1932, a relegated athlete to the then still second-rate category e dytë should be determined. All teams competed against each other twice.
A total of 311 goals were scored, which corresponds to an average of 3.4 goals per game. The top scorer with 25 goals was Riza Lushta from SK Tirana, who became the first player to be top scorer in the league more than once.
The SK Tirana dominated proceedings in the last season before the war and won the sixth title with six points ahead of runner- Vllaznia Shkoder . With a lead of six points, 74 goals scored and only eight allowed goals, the capital city club, which also remained undefeated for the second season in a row, achieved the best-ever result of a club in the Category e Parë. The top four places in the table were Tirana, Shkodra, KS Besa Kavaja and Skënderbeu Korça, the same clubs as the year before. In 1937 Bashkimi Elbasan found himself in fifth place, penultimate in the preseason. Newcomer Bardhyli Lezha reached a respectable sixth place in his first league game year ahead of Dragoj Pogradec and Teuta Durrës . The two last-placed Ismail Qemali Vlora and FK Tomori Berat , who were tied on points, played a relegation game to keep their league after the end of regular time.
In a relegation game after the end of the regular season, Vlora defeated Tomori Berat with 2: 1 goals on neutral ground in Kavaja in a duel between the two tied bottom of the table and thus secured relegation.
