The Kategoria e Pare 1969/70 (mutatis mutandis: First League ) was the 31st staging of the Albanian football championship and was the National Football Association Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit aligned. After a season that was held in the calendar year, the Albanian championship has been played across the year since 1969/70.
After the 1968 season, which had been played out within the calendar year, the game was now back to the rhythm from autumn to spring, which is why there was no first division football to be seen in the first half of 1969. The year-long game form based on the European model has been in existence in Albania to this day. The championship was played in a regular season with a round trip. Each team competed twice against each other team. The two last-placed teams had to relegate to the then still second-rate category e dytë . The champion moved into the European Cup .
A total of 407 goals were scored, which corresponds to an average of 2.2 goals per game. The top scorer with 17 goals was Panajot Pano from FK Partizani Tirana .
17 Nëntori Tirana took their fourth title in five seasons. With a lead of six points over Partizani Tirana , the largest lead in this period was achieved and the tenth championship in the club's history was won. The club thus drew level with the previously sole record champions Partizani. Third place went to Vllaznia Shkodra, tied ahead of Dinamo Tirana . Besa Kavaja , still involved in the relegation battle in 1968, finished fifth, leaving Labinoti Elbasan , Skënderbeu Korça and Traktori Lushnja tied behind. Flamurtari Vlora came in ninth, and was fifth in the previous season. Lokomotiva Durrës came in tenth. Luftëtari Gjirokastra and Apolonia Fier secured relegation and relegated newly promoted Tekstilisti “Stalin” Yzberish directly back to the second class. With Naftëtari Qyteti Stalin , the other newcomer, who had no real chance of staying in the class, had to relegate immediately.
