The Kategoria e Pare 1930 (mutatis mutandis: First League ) was the first organized football championship in Albania . The season lasted from April 6 to July 6, 1930.

Historical summary of Albanian football up to 1930

At the beginning of the 20th century football reached Albania: missionary students are said to have played with a ball in Shkodra . In the first few years, however, there was no organized game operation. In the beginning it was mainly children who played in the fields or on the streets with improvised goals. Games were also played in schools. The first traditional football game is considered to be a staging of Austro-Hungarian soldiers against a selection of locals in Shkodra in the summer of 1913. But over time, even administrative officials and financial directors played football in their free time. The first clubs were founded around 1920 that also played games in other cities. Some clubs even took part in Italian matches. On June 6, 1930, the national football association Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit was finally founded. The first national championship, organized with the help of the Greek association EPO, had already started two months earlier.

Season course

Six teams took part in the championship, which was played with a round trip. For the decision, two play-off games were scheduled after the end of the round between the tied leaders SK Tirana and KS Skënderbeu Korça . Due to the resignation of Skënderbeu, SK Tirana became the first Albanian football champion. This was preceded by a controversial scene in the match between SK Tirana and Skënderbeu Korça on the last day of the match: Skënderbeu complained that they had not been given a clear goal. The audience in Korça therefore did not let the players on the field in the first final game. The English referee reported, who should have whistled for the first final game, when they felt they were being treated unjustifiably. Back then it happened again and again that players left the field and threatened referees.

Third Bashkimi Shkodran (now KS Vllaznia Shkodra ) missed first place by just one point . A total of 32 games were played in which 80 goals were scored (2.5 per game). With Emil Hajnali and Rexhep Maçi , the title holder SK Tirana probably also provided the top scorers with three goals each. However, this cannot be proven because of lost or incomplete data.

On July 19th, according to another source on July 20th, the team of the master SK Tirana was honored by the Albanian King Ahmet Zogu in Tirana. He described the players as the hope of home.
