The Kategoria e Pare 1964/65 (mutatis mutandis: First League ) was the 27th staging of the Albanian football championship and was the National Football Association Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit aligned. The season began in September 1964 and ended on June 20, 1965.

Season course

As in the previous season, the league consisted of twelve teams. 1963/64 KS Luftëtari Gjirokastra was relegated from theategoria e Parë, for the new season Ylli i Kuq Pogradec rose again after several years of abstinence in the first division. The club used to be called Spartaku Pogradec . The defending champion was FK Partizani Tirana .

The championship was played in a regular season with a round trip. Each team competed twice against each other team. The bottom of the table was relegated to the then still second-rate category e dytë . The penultimate played relegation games against the second in the second division. The champion moved into the European Cup .

A total of 307 goals were scored, which corresponds to an average of 2.3 goals per game. The top scorer with 14 goals was for the third time in a row Robert Jashari from FK Partizani Tirana .

For the first time since 1937 , then still as SK Tirana, 17 Nëntori Tirana won the championship title. It was the seventh overall in the club's history, after a sixth place in the preseason. In the narrow title fight, Nëntori prevailed with only one point ahead of record champions Partizani Tirana and Dinamo Tirana . Since 1947 , one of these two clubs had always won the title. Besa Kavaja was fourth, only two points behind, with Lokomotiva Durrës just behind in fifth . It was followed by Flamurtari Vlora . With Traktori Lushnja , Vllaznia Shkodra , Tomori Berat and Labinoti Elbasan , four clubs were tied after the end of the season and thus narrowly escaped the relegation place that Skënderbeu Korçë occupied. Newcomer Ylli i Kuq Pogradec rose directly to the second division as the last without a win.

Relegation

After the end of the regular season, the penultimate of the first division, Skënderbeu Korça , went against the runner-up in the second division, Naftëtari Qyteti Stalin . Skënderbeu won the first and second leg with 6: 0 and 5: 3 and thus secured relegation.
