The Selman Stërmasi Stadium ( Albanian Stadiumi Selman Stërmasi ) is a football stadium in the Albanian capital Tirana . It offers 12,724 places. The football club KF Tirana plays its home games in this stadium. There is also the larger Qemal Stafa Stadium in Tirana .
history
Until 1991 the sports field was called Dinamo Stadium after KS Dinamo Tirana . Then the venue was renamed in honor of the Albanian footballer Selman Stërmasi (1908-1976). Stërmasi won the first Albanian championship as a player and coach in 1930 with SK Tirana , as the club was then called. He was also there when they won five of the following six championships, most recently as a coach. He also supported the club financially and organisationally in its early years.
In 2015 the "Selman Stërmasi" stadium was renovated. With the renovation, it is again possible to host international games in the capital. Blue and white, the club colors of KF Tirana , dominate the building. The plastic seats on the tiers were mounted in a checkerboard pattern .
