The Faroese Football Championship 2004 was played in the 1st Deild called first Faroese league and was overall the 62nd season. It started on April 21, 2004 with Skála ÍF's game against HB Tórshavn and ended on October 2, 2004.
Promoted ÍF Fuglafjørður returned to the top division after four years. Champion was defending champion HB Tórshavn, who could win the title for the third time in a row and for the 18th time overall. On the other hand, B68 Toftir had to relegate after 24 years of excellence.
Compared to the previous season, the goal rate improved to 3.34 per game. The highest win achieved EB / Streymur with a 7-0 in the home game against ÍF Fuglafjørður on matchday six. The highest-scoring games were with the 7: 1 between HB Tórshavn and B68 Toftir on matchday five and with the 6: 2 between B36 Tórshavn and B68 Toftir on the last matchday.

Championship decision
Skála ÍF sat at the top of the table for the first time on the fourth matchday, with the exception of a draw on the second matchday only wins. After the away game at NSÍ Runavík was lost 2-0 on matchday eight , HB Tórshavn was now in first place. They only lost their first game 3-1 at Skála ÍF, which should remain the only defeat in the entire season. This was followed by five wins and two draws. After another seven victories in a row, the championship title was already clear on matchday 15. HB Tórshavn won the top game between first placed HB Tórshavn and B36 Tórshavn , who had previously placed second , with a 1-0 win, which left them unassailable in the lead.
Relegation battle
B68 Toftir consistently took last place from the second match day. In the first 14 games there was not a single win, with the exception of two draws, all games were lost. VB Vágur was only beaten 3-2 away on the 15th matchday, and the next and last victory was achieved in the game. On the penultimate match day, the last chance of relegation was lost with a 2: 4 against EB / Streymur , while the ninth-placed ÍF Fuglafjørður was able to consolidate his place with a 2: 2 against B36 Tórshavn.
After an opening defeat ÍF Fuglafjørður won the second game 4-2 against NSÍ Runavík and achieved the best result of the season with fifth place. Eight games without a win in a row let the team crash to the penultimate place. After the 0-2 away defeat against B68 Toftir on matchday 16, it was clear that eighth place could no longer be achieved to ensure relegation. On the next day of the match, a 2-2 win against B36 Tórshavn made it clear that they would take part in the relegation games.

National Cup
In National Cup won HB Torshavn with 3: 1 against NSÍ Runavík and thus achieved the Double .
European Cup
2004/05 HB Tórshavn played as champion of the previous year in the qualification for the Champions League against WIT Georgia Tbilisi (Georgia). The first leg was lost 5-0, but the second leg could be won 3-0, which meant the highest victory of a Faroese team.
B36 Tórshavn played last year’s cup winners in qualifying for the UEFA Cup , where they were knocked out against Liepājas Metalurgs (Latvia) 3-1 and 8-1.
B68 Toftir also played in qualifying for the UEFA Cup and were eliminated by FK Ventspils (Latvia) 3-0 and 8-0.
NSÍ Runavík took part in the UI Cup . The first leg in the first round at Esbjerg fB (Denmark) was lost 3-1, the second leg in Runavík ended 0-4.
