Lassin Isaksen (born January 21, 1961 in Klaksvík ) is a former Faroese football referee . From 1996 to the end of his career in 2006, he also served as a FIFA referee.

Career

As a player

Isaksen played as a defender exclusively for KÍ Klaksvík and came in 1980 on the first day of the 1. Deild in the 1: 2 away defeat against GÍ Gøta for the first time. In the next two years he was mostly a regular player, as a result, he only completed more than half of all league games in 1987 and 1988. He was last used for the first team in 1990, and in 1994 he helped out again with the third team. Isaksen played a total of 73 top division games.

The first women's international match between the Netherlands and Norway followed in 1998 in qualifying for the 1999 World Cup . In the men's U-21 team, he was also in charge of the friendly between Denmark and Finland . His last match as a referee on November 15, 2006 between Ireland and San Marino to qualify for the Euro 2008 was broadcast live on Sjónvarp Føroya . His successor for the Faroe Islands at international level was Petur Reinert .

Isaksen led a total of 194 first division games (183 for men, 12 for women), 23 second division games, seven relegation games, 72 Faroese Cup games, 15 European Cup games, seven A, seven U-21, two U-19 and two U -17 internationals. His home club as a referee was KÍ Klaksvík as a player. After his active career, Isaksen acts as referee coordinator for the Faroese Federation .
