Íþróttabandalag Akraness , better known as ÍA Akranes , is a football club from the Icelandic city of Akranes . The club colors are black and yellow. The Akranesvöllur Stadium has a capacity of 4,850 seats.
history
The club was founded in 1946 and became national champion just five years later. Since then, ÍA Akranes has won 18 titles and nine cups . ÍA Akranes was one of the few football clubs in Iceland that could compete with the teams from Reykjavík . From 2009 to 2011 and most recently in 2014, the club played second class.
