The Icelandic football championship in 1994 was the 83rd season of the highest Icelandic football league . The league began on May 23, 1994 and ended with the last games on September 24, 1994.

The ten participating clubs competed against each other twice in a simple round-trip round. Defending champion ÍA Akranes won the championship for the third time in a row and for the 15th time. It was the first time in 44 years that a club won the title three seasons in a row; KR Reykjavík won this for the last time from 1948 to 1950 . With the relegation of Þór Akureyri , for the first time since 1980 no club from Akureyri will play in Iceland's highest football league next season .

With the Yugoslav Mihajlo Bibercić , for the first time no Icelander was the top scorer in the league.
