Icelandic football championship 1954

The Icelandic football championship in 1955 was the 44th season of the highest Icelandic football league . It began on June 12, 1955 and ended on September 11, 1955.

Six teams took part in the competition, each of which competed once against each other. The title went to KR Reykjavík for the 15th time . For the first time in history, the bottom of the table had to relegate to the 2nd deild karla (2nd league) to be replaced by the local champions next season.
