The Pepsideild 2014 was the 103rd season of the highest Icelandic football league . It began on May 4th and ended on October 4th, 2014 with the 22nd matchday.

mode

The twelve teams in the league play against each other in a simple round-trip round, so that each team plays 22 games. The last two teams will be relegated at the end of the season.

The champion is admitted to qualify for the 2015/16 Champions League , the second and third placed team and the cup winner to qualify for the Europa League .

Compared to the previous year, the composition of the league changed as follows: UMF Víkingur and ÍA Akranes were relegated to the 1st deild karla (2nd level) as eleventh and twelfth-placed teams in the 2013 season . The local champions Fjölnir Reykjavík and the second-placed Víkingur Reykjavík , on the other hand, rose to the first division.
