The Icelandic football championship in 1948 was the 37th season of the highest Icelandic football league .
The season started with five teams, however ÍA Akranes withdrew after two losses in the first two games from the championship. The games were canceled. The remaining teams each met once. The title went to KR Reykjavík for the eleventh time .
