The Icelandic Football Championship in 1993 was the 82nd season of the highest Icelandic football league . The league began on May 23, 1993 and ended with the last games on September 25, 1993.

The title went to defending champion ÍA Akranes for the 14th time . The team was nine points ahead of second-placed FH Hafnarfjörður and already 22 points ahead of third, Keflavík ÍF . The team was also the first team to win the double since 1984 by winning the Icelandic Cup (also won by the ÍA Akranes at the time).

The ÍA Akranes also set a new league record with 62 goals (Ø: 3.44 goals / game), the old one was 47 meetings in the 1978 season , also held by the ÍA Akranes. In addition, the champions also provided the top scorer in þordur Guðjonsson. At the other end of the table set Víkingur Reykjavík , champion in 1991 , with 59 goals conceded also a new (negative) record on the old dated from Þór Akureyri from the 1977 season with 48 goals conceded.
