Venues |
In the Super League, the ten clubs competed four times against each opponent, twice in their home stadiums and twice away. In total, each team played 36 games. The last placed was relegated to the Challenge League.
Before the season started, Switzerland finished 13th in the UEFA five-year ranking, which guarantees the Swiss champions a place in the group stage of the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League , provided that the 2013/14 UEFA Champions League winners have already won the domestic championship qualified for the Champions League and thus does not claim the defending champion's automatic start right. Otherwise he has to start in the third qualifying round.
The runner-up will definitely take part in the third round of qualification, but he must qualify via the placement route instead of the champions route.
In addition, three teams will compete in qualifying for the 2014/15 UEFA Europa League . The cup winner goes straight to the play-offs, the third placed in the third round and the fourth in the second.
