Dimitar Rangelow [ dimitar rangɛɫɔf ] ( Bulgarian Димитър Рангелов , English transcription / FIFA spelling: Dimitar Rangelov ; born February 9, 1983 in Sofia , Bulgaria ) is a Bulgarian football player .

Career

society

Rangelow began playing football at Levski Sofia . From 1999 to 2006 he played for Slavia Sofia and played for the first time in a championship game at the age of 17. In the summer of 2006 he completed a trial training at FC Erzgebirge Aue . A commitment failed because of the higher transfer fee that the French club Racing Strasbourg paid for him.

In Alsace, Rangelow came in the first half of the 2006/07 season to 15 games (two goals), but was only substituted on and off several times. In January 2007 he again took part in a trial session at FC Erzgebirge Aue. The Ore Mountains then loaned the Bulgarians from Racing Strasbourg until the end of June 2007.

In Aue, Rangelow immediately became a regular player. In the game against Wacker Burghausen on February 16, 2007 he scored his first goal for the team from coach Gerd Schädlich after he failed on the previous matchday in the encounter at SpVgg Greuther Fürth with a penalty to goalkeeper Stephan Loboué . In the following games Rangelow was always in the starting line-up and was one of the few Auer players who was certified as normal in the second half of the season.

For the 2007/08 season Rangelow moved to Energie Cottbus , again on loan . After the loan expired at the end of the season, the club used a purchase option and tied Rangelow for a longer period of time. After Energie Cottbus was relegated from the Bundesliga, Rangelow moved to Borussia Dortmund for the 2009/10 season . At BVB, he signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2013. On matchday 27 of the 2009/10 season, he scored his first and only goal for BVB in the 87th minute with the 3-0 winner against Bayer 04 Leverkusen .

As of September 6, 2010, he was loaned to Maccabi Tel Aviv . For the 2011/12 season he moved - again on loan - to Energie Cottbus . In the summer break of 2012 Rangelow signed a two-year contract with the option of another season at FC Luzern . At FC Luzern he scored 1-0 in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League playoffs against KRC Genk (final result 2-1), but received a red card in the second leg for assault. FC Luzern lost the game 2-0 and was eliminated. A missed penalty and another red card in the championship contributed to a poor start for Lucerne into the 2012/13 season. At the beginning, the fans attached this to the person of Rangelow. Towards the end of the first half of the season he was able to win the fans' sympathy with his above-average commitment and willingness to fight and became one of the crowd's favorites. Nevertheless, he scored only one championship goal in the 2012/13 season. In the 2013/14 season he developed into an indispensable regular player and scored six goals in the first half of the season. The marksmanship was not lacking in the spring and he scored another five goals. These eleven goals this season represent the most successful season in a top division rangelows. In addition to these eleven championship goals, Rangelow also scored six goals in five cup games in the 2013/14 season.

In the summer of 2014 he moved to the Turkish first division club Torku Konyaspor . For the 2017/18 season he moved to the Istanbul second division club Ümraniyespor . After one season he left the club and trained at his former club Energie Cottbus, with which he signed a contract on October 18, 2018 until the end of the 2018/19 season. In his debut on matchday 13 against FC Carl Zeiss Jena , he scored his first goal for the Lausitzer.

National team

For Bulgaria he played his first international match in a 0-0 draw against Azerbaijan on November 17, 2004 , when he came on for Dimitar Berbatow in the 58th minute .
