The Bulgarian national football team is the football selection of the Bulgarian Football Association . Her greatest achievement was reaching fourth place at the 1994 World Cup .
history
The Bulgarian football association is called Balgarski futbolen sajus (Bulgarian Български футболен съюз) and was founded in 1923. The Bulgarian national football team can boast a large number of finals participations, but they were almost always eliminated in the preliminary round. Only at the 1994 World Cup in the USA was Bulgaria able to advance to the semi-finals thanks to an outstanding Christo Stoitschkow , who ten years later also worked as a national coach for some time.
The team is currently coached by Georgi Dermendzhiew .
