The Finnish national soccer team is the national soccer team of Finland and is subordinate to the Finnish soccer association Suomen Palloliitto . Finland has never qualified for a World Cup and will take part in a European Football Championship for the first time in 2021 .

After 1948 the senior national team no longer took part in the Olympic Games; However, she played qualifying games for the Olympic Games in 1960 against Poland, 1964 against the USSR and 1976 against Norway, which are not recognized by FIFA as A international games. At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , the Finnish Olympic team eliminated as hosts in the first round against Austria. In 1980 the Finnish Olympic team replaced the Norwegian Olympic team and dropped out in the preliminary round. After that no Finnish team could qualify for the Olympic Games.
