Joonas Kolkka (born September 28, 1974 in Lahti ) is a former Finnish football player . Kolkka was used as a winger and midfielder .

career

In his youth, Kolkka played for his hometown club Lahden Reipas , but soon switched to the Finnish first division club Myllykosken Pallo -47 from Kouvola , with whom he won the Finnish Cup and in whose service he was appointed to the Finnish national football team for the first time Years came to a total of 98 games (11 goals). At the age of 21, his international club career began with his move to the Dutch honor division to Willem II Tilburg , which culminated at PSV Eindhoven and Panathinaikos Athens . Kolkka made a total of 25 UEFA Champions League appearances with these two clubs between 1998 and 2003, scoring his only goal in the premier league for the Greeks. With PSV he was twice Dutch champion.

For the 2003/04 season he moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the German Bundesliga for one season . Here he scored two goals in 28 games. As with PSV and Panathinaikos, he wore the number 11 on his shirt in Mönchengladbach. After a one-year guest appearance in the English Premier League at Crystal Palace , Kolkka found his way back to the Netherlands in 2005. After a last season with Willem II Tilburg in the Dutch second division , he ended his career in 2012 with the Texas Dutch Lions in the United States.

Kolkka now lives with his Dutch wife in the Netherlands and in 2013 worked as a coach for the C-Juniors at PSV Eindhoven.
