Lassi Lappalainen (* 24. August 1998 in Espoo ) is a Finnish footballer who currently as Players out on loan from the Italian first division club FC Bologna in the Canadian MLS - Franchise Montreal Impact is under contract. The winger joined the Finnish national team in January 2019 .

Career

Lappalainen started playing football at the top club HJK Helsinki . In 2015 he first came to Klubi 04 , the HJK reserve team, in the third-class Kakkonen . In his fifth season appearance against Sudet Kouvola , he scored his first league goal. In the further season he met eight more times, so that in the following season he spent most of the season with the professionals. He made his debut in the Veikkausliiga on April 2, 2016 against IFK Mariehamn , when he was brought into play for Nnamdi Oduamadi in the 90th minute of the game. In the 2016 season he made 14 league appearances for HJK, in which he remained without scoring.

After playing only a short stint for the first team after 17 matchdays in the following season 2017 , he was loaned out to league rivals Rovaniemi PS on July 21, 2017 for the rest of the season. Just two days after his arrival, he scored his first goal for RoPS in a 2-1 home defeat by Seinäjoen JK . On September 30, 2017, he scored twice against JJK Jyväskylä and just under two weeks later in a 3-0 home win against Vaasa PS once.

For the 2018 season he was awarded again to RoPS. On the first day of the match he scored the goal of the day at Vaasa PS. After six league games he already had four goals and one assist in his account. At the end of the season he was eighth top scorer in the league and the best of his team with eight hits and six assists. With his team he reached the 2nd place in the table behind his loan club HJK Helsinki.

After he had played all 14 league games of the 2019 season for HJK by the beginning of July 2019 and scored three goals in these, the Italian first division club FC Bologna signed the winger on July 17. On July 25, he moved on loan for one year for Canadian MLS - Franchise Montreal Impact . In his debut three days later, he scored a brace in a 4-0 home win over Philadelphia Union . In the 2019 season he scored five goals in eleven league games.

National team

Lappalainen went through all Finnish junior teams, starting with the U-16 . He made his debut for the Finnish national team on January 9, 2019 in a friendly against Sweden .
