The Veikkausliiga 2017 was the 28th season of the top Finnish division in men's football under this name and the 87th season since its introduction in 1930. The season started on April 5 and ended on October 28, 2017.
On matchday 28, HJK Helsinki became the 28th Finnish champions with a 1-0 win over IFK Mariehamn . At the end of the season, the club from the capital had 20 points ahead of Kuopion PS and Tampereen Ilves . On the penultimate matchday, promoted JJK Jyväskylä was determined to be relegated. Helsingfors IFK also had to relegate as the loser in the relegation .
