Mestaruussarja 1956

The Mestaruussarja 1957 was the 27th season of the Finnish football championship since its introduction in 1930. It was played among ten teams from May 5 to October 6.

Champion Helsingin Palloseura in the second season since the rise of 1955. For the first time then played the Finnish champion European Cup champion . The last two clubs were relegated.

    Soccer cup

    Drott Jakobstad won the Finnish Football Cup in front of almost 3,900 spectators in the Helsinki Olympic Stadium with a 2-1 win after extra time over Kuopion Pallotoverit .
