Mestaruussarja 1958

The Mestaruussarja 1959 was the 29th season of the Finnish football championship since its introduction in 1930. It was played among ten teams from May 3 to October 25. Helsingfors IFK won the championship in its second season after promotion in 1957.

Since the league was increased to twelve clubs in the coming season, only one club was relegated and three clubs were promoted.

    Top scorer

    Turun PS's Matti Sundelin was Mestaruussarja 's top scorer with 21 goals in 1959. Sundelin won this award for the second time after 1957.

    Soccer cup

    Haka Valkeakoski won the Finnish Football Cup on November 1st in front of almost 4,200 spectators in the Helsinki Olympic Stadium with a 2-1 win over Helsingfors IFK.
