The Mestaruussarja 1955 was the 25th season of the Finnish football championship since its introduction in 1930. It was played among ten teams from May 8 to October 23.
Master was Kronohagens IF . The last two clubs were relegated.
The Finnish Football Cup was played for the first time in 1955 . In the final, which was held in the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki , on November 20, in front of around 3,000 spectators, Haka Valkeakoski beat second division Helsingin Palloseura 4-1 after extra time.
