The Mestaruussarja 1958 was the 28th season of the Finnish football championship since its introduction in 1930. It was played among ten teams from May 4th to November 1st.

Kuopion PS and defending champions Helsingin Palloseura had the same number of points after 18 matchdays and therefore played a play-off for the Finnish championship, which Kuopio won 1-0 after extra time. Kuopio became Finnish football champions for the second time after 1956. The last three clubs were relegated.

    Soccer cup

    The Finnish Football Cup decided Kotkan Työväen Palloilijat by a 4: 1 over Kronohagens IF from the second league of its own. 3,000 spectators saw this game in the Helsinki Olympic Stadium .
