Soccer cup
The final of the Finnish Football Cup 1978 was played in a return leg. Lahden Reipas won the first leg against Kuopion Pallotoverit on October 8th at Väinölänniemen Stadium in Kuopio 3-1. The second leg at the Radiomänen Stadium in Lahti on October 15 ended 1-1, which Lahti won for the seventh time.
