Koparit Kuopio was a Finnish football club from Kuopio .

history

The club was founded in 1931 as Kuopion Pallo Toverit and played first-rate with interruptions until 1954. After unsuccessful years, the 1972 season was promoted to Mestaruussarja and, after relegation in 1976, it was immediately promoted again. In the 1979/80 season KPT took part in the UEFA Cup for the first time. In 1982 the name was changed to Koparit Kuopio. Under this name, the club took part in the top division until 1987. After a merger with Kupion Elo, the club filed for bankruptcy in 1990 and was dissolved.
