Veikkausliiga 2007

The Veikkausliiga 2008 was the 19th season of the top Finnish division in men's football under this name and the 78th season since its introduction in 1930. The season started on April 27th and ended on October 26th, 2008.

Inter Turku became Finnish champions for the first time.

    International cup competitions 2009/10

    Inter Turku

    In July 2009, champions Inter Turku met Moldovan serial champions Sheriff Tiraspol in the second qualifying round of the 2009/10 UEFA Champions League and lost 1-0 in both the first and second legs.

    FC Honka Espoo

    Runner-up Espoo entered the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League in the second qualifying round. Opponent on July 16 and 23, 2009 was the 2008 Welsh Cup winner, Bangor City . Espoo prevailed 2-0 and 1-0. In the third qualifying round, Espoo faced Azerbaijani cup winners FK Qarabağ Ağdam on July 30th and August 6th and lost twice with 1-0 and 2-1.

    FC Lahti

    FC Lahti played in the first qualifying round of the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League against Albanian club KS Dinamo Tirana on July 2 and 9, 2009 . FC won the first leg in Lahti 4-1. The second leg a week later was lost 2-0, but was enough for FC Lahti to advance. In the second qualifying round on July 16 and 23, Lahti beat the Slovenian team ND Gorica after a 1-0 defeat in the first leg and 2-0 in the second leg. Lahti faced Club Bruges in the third qualifying round on July 30th and August 6th . Lahti finally failed against Bruges after a 2: 3 in the first leg and a 1: 1 draw.

    HJK Helsinki

    The fourth Finnish representative in international business in 2009/10, cup winner HJK Helsinki, failed in the second qualifying round of the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League to Vėtra Vilnius from Lithuania despite a 1-0 away win in the first leg due to a 3-1 defeat in the second leg .
