history
After the most important football club from Jakobstad, Drott Jakobstad , had stopped playing, football fans of the local metal industry Jakobstads rostfria (Jaro) founded the FF Jaro on December 18, 1965. From 1966 the club took part in the game and slowly worked its way up to the second division.
1983 Jaro qualified for the first time for the promotion round to the Mestaruussarja, but failed extremely narrowly. Five years later, the championship succeeded in the second division and the club rose. However, the team took last place in the following season, which they did not give up in the relegation round, and was immediately relegated.
In the second division Jaro was able to qualify directly for the promotion games, where Kokkolan Palloveikot was defeated in both games and thus succeeded in promotion . In the first division, the club placed fourth. After the club was in danger of relegation in the 1995 season, he finished the following regular season in first place. In the championship round, however, the team remained without a win and fell back to fifth place.
In 1998 the club rose from bottom of the table in the second division and only returned in 2002. Since then, the team has regularly placed in the lower midfield.
